MAYA'S ADOPTION JOURNEY

WELCOME TO MY JOURNEY TO BRING MY DAUGHTER, MAYA GRACE HOME FROM GUATEMALA. DURING THIS JOURNEY I HAVE STUMBLED OVER MANY MOUNTAINS ONLY TO BUILD MY FAITH. THIS HAS BEEN ONE OF THE HARDEST JOURNEY'S OF MY LIFE AND IT HAS THE GREATEST PRIZE AT THE END. I CAN'T WAIT FOR THEM TO PLACE MY DAUGHTER IN MY ARMS FOREVER. MY DREAMS WILL THEN BE REALITY!!!

TAKE ME AWAY!!!

IT IS DAYS LIKE TODAY THAT I WISH I COULD JUST JUMP IN AN OCEAN OF CHOCOLATE. SOMEHOW CHOCOLATE ALWAYS MAKES THINGS SEEM BETTER. I REALLY AM TRYING TO BE POSITIVE ABOUT THIS ADOPTION. HOWEVER, IT IS SOOOO HARD AT TIMES. ESPECIALLY WHEN I DON'T SEE ANYTHING HAPPENING. NOT EVEN AN UPDATE WITH A NEW PICTURE. I THOUGHT SHE WAS SUPPOSED TO GO TO THE DOCTOR EVERY MONTH. WELL, MAYA IS A LITTLE OVER 6 WEEKS OLD AND I DON'T HAVE A ONE MONTH MEDICAL REPORT. I KNOW THAT MY AGENCY IS DOING EVERYTHING THEY CAN. SOMETHINGS JUST CAN'T BE HELPED. I JUST HAVE TO FOCUS AND MAYA. GETTING HER HOME IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THIS PROCESS.

Ginger, hang in there. Not to make you nuts, but most people I've met don't really ever get a medical report during the process. Amelia just turned 5 months - I only have a 6 week weight update. That's it. You can really pick that battle and go to the mattresses for an update - but unless she's really sick (which they would call you) I would save that battle for something information related. I'll be praying for pictures and an update for you!!!(((HUGS)))))

Ginger, did your agency tell you you would get medicals and foster visit pictures? We were told we would get 2 sets of photos each month (sometimes 3) and we all do like clockwork.
Maybe this is not policy for your agency. so I would ask them. These agencies don't udnerstand that is what we live for. We can't be with our child all the time so we live for updated pictures!
It's not fun, I agree withthat. I havegained weight and been under more stress than ever. Ugh.

I am a single mother with a daughter from Guatemala. I brought her home on August 21st, 2007. I am loving every second of motherhood. Maya is the love of my life. I can't imagine life without her. I thank God everyday that she is home in my arms.
