MAYA'S ADOPTION JOURNEY

WELCOME TO MY JOURNEY TO BRING MY DAUGHTER, MAYA GRACE HOME FROM GUATEMALA. DURING THIS JOURNEY I HAVE STUMBLED OVER MANY MOUNTAINS ONLY TO BUILD MY FAITH. THIS HAS BEEN ONE OF THE HARDEST JOURNEY'S OF MY LIFE AND IT HAS THE GREATEST PRIZE AT THE END. I CAN'T WAIT FOR THEM TO PLACE MY DAUGHTER IN MY ARMS FOREVER. MY DREAMS WILL THEN BE REALITY!!!

MAYA'S FIRST BABY SHOWER

MY CO-WORKERS ARE GIVING ME A BREAKFAST BABY SHOWER AFTER WORK IN THE MORNING. I AM NOT VERY EXCITED ABOUT THIS. SOME OF THEM HAVE BEEN VERY RUDE TO ME DURING THIS PROCESS. THEY DON'T HAVE A CLUE WHAT I HAVE BEEN THROUGH OVER THE PAST 2.5 YEARS. THEY WERE THROWING BABY SHOWERS FOR ALL THE PREGNANT WOMEN AT WORK AND TELLING ME "IF" MAYA EVERY COMES HOME WE WILL GIVE YOU A SHOWER. WELL, I HAD HEARD THAT ENOUGH. I UNDERSTAND THAT ADOPTION IS VERY UNCERTAIN BUT SHE IS COMING HOME. SO, LAST WEEK I ASK THIS ONE CO-WORKER WHAT SHE THOUGHT THE DIFFERENCE WAS IN ME AND THE PREGNANT PERSON. SHE SAID THAT SHE KNOWS THE PREGNANT PERSON WILL HAVE A BABY. I LOST IT!!! I TOLD HER THAT THERE IS NO PROMISE THAT HER BABY WILL BE BORN. JUST BECAUSE HER BELLY IS GETTING BIG DOESN'T MEAN THAT SHE WILL HAVE A BABY. ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN. SOME PEOPLE JUST DON'T GET IT. SO, ABOUT AN HOUR AFTER THIS CONVERSATION 3 OF MY CO-WORKERS CAME TO ME PLANNING A BABY SHOWER. I JUST TOLD THEM TO FORGET IT BECAUSE I KNEW WHY THEY WERE GIVING IT. WELL, THEY DIDN'T SO IN THE MORNING I HAVE TO SUCK IT UP AND BE NICE. I CAN DO THAT. SEVERAL OF MY VERY DEAR FRIENDS WILL BE THERE. I CAN MAKE THIS A FUN EVENT. I JUST HAVE TO REMEMBER THAT IT IS FOR MAYA. SORRY TO BE SO FUSSY TODAY BUT STUPID PEOPLE REALLY FRUSTRATE ME.

Ginger, I agree totally with you that if a womans belly is getting bigger, it doesn't mean the she will actually deliver the baby. Sometimes bad things like that happen. I am pray that this may be a joyous event and that everyone will be loving and caring to you in these last couple days in the adoption process.

Enjoy your time with your friends and hope you get some nice gifts! Some people are just so incredibly ignorant...I bet they feel badly for how they acted, hopefully they are being genuine and really want to give you the shower. People who aren't involved in adoption really don't understand how much our hearts are on the line. Hope you have fun!

so sorry for the idiotic comments! It is truly a challenge to educate those around us about adoption! IF they would only do their part and actually LISTEN!!

Just always be aware that stupid people exist... and we have to learn to deal with them. Try to have fun and know the reward will be pretty things for Maya.. however they came about!!! Who can't use a few extra things right!!!!!

I agree there will always be ignorant people around us that we just have to deal with but it stinks sometimes to deal with them. I hope you got tons of cute thins for Maya and were able to enjoy yourself!
