WELCOME TO MY JOURNEY TO BRING MY DAUGHTER, MAYA GRACE HOME FROM GUATEMALA. DURING THIS JOURNEY I HAVE STUMBLED OVER MANY MOUNTAINS ONLY TO BUILD MY FAITH. THIS HAS BEEN ONE OF THE HARDEST JOURNEY'S OF MY LIFE AND IT HAS THE GREATEST PRIZE AT THE END. I CAN'T WAIT FOR THEM TO PLACE MY DAUGHTER IN MY ARMS FOREVER. MY DREAMS WILL THEN BE REALITY!!!

WHAT SHOULD I DO????
WELL THERE IS A LOT GOING ON IN GUATEMALA RIGHT NOW. AS MOST OF YOU KNOW I HAVE A TRIP PLANNED FOR DECEMBER 20TH THROUGH DECEMBER 27TH. I HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT CANCELING THAT TRIP DUE TO THE RECENT PROBLEMS WITH THE FOSTER MOMS AND BABIES. I DON'T WANT TO DO ANYTHING TO PUT MY LITTLE MAYA OR HER FOSTER FAMILY IN DANGER. HOWEVER, IT WOULD TOTALLY BREAK MY HEART NOT BE ABLE TO SPEND CHRISTMAS WITH HER. SO, FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT PRAY, PLEASE PRAY THAT THESE PROBLEMS WILL RESOLVE AND ALL OF US ANXIOUS PARENTS CAN GO AND HOLD OUR BABIES IN PEACE AND FEEL SAFE. I MISS MAYA SO MUCH, IT IS MAKING ME CRAZY. IT IS ONLY 51 MORE DAYS UNTIL I CAN HOLD HER AGAIN.
I think most of the problems have blown over for now. You can play it by ear and if things get bad again, then you can cancel. But, for now, enjoy planning on spending Christmas with Maya! What fun you will have.
I guess I am not keeping up with the message board as well lately. Have things changed? We stayed at the marriot (adoption city) at the beginning of October, and everthing was fine. I think you will be fine. ;) Maya is BEAUTIFUL!
Ginger, she is sooooooooooo precious!! I definitely think things are safer than they were 2 weeks ago. Hopefully by your trip things will have really blown over. I am so JEALOUS you are going down over Christmas!! What an AMAZING present to be able to spend it with your gorgeous little girl!!
I'm sure this is a very hard decision for you Ginger. I wish I had some advice, but it seems that all the agency's are saying different things right now. Praying for you my friend. ((HUGS)) dawnz
I am a single mother with a daughter from Guatemala. I brought her home on August 21st, 2007. I am loving every second of motherhood. Maya is the love of my life. I can't imagine life without her. I thank God everyday that she is home in my arms.
