MAYA'S ADOPTION JOURNEY

WELCOME TO MY JOURNEY TO BRING MY DAUGHTER, MAYA GRACE HOME FROM GUATEMALA. DURING THIS JOURNEY I HAVE STUMBLED OVER MANY MOUNTAINS ONLY TO BUILD MY FAITH. THIS HAS BEEN ONE OF THE HARDEST JOURNEY'S OF MY LIFE AND IT HAS THE GREATEST PRIZE AT THE END. I CAN'T WAIT FOR THEM TO PLACE MY DAUGHTER IN MY ARMS FOREVER. MY DREAMS WILL THEN BE REALITY!!!

SOME NEWS FROM GUATEMALA!!

I HAD BEEN TRYING ALL WEEK TO CONTACT MY LAWYER AND COODINATOR IN GUATEMALA. I DIDN'T HEAR ANYTHING ALL WEEK. SO, I WAS GETTING VERY FRUSTRATED AND ANGRY BECAUSE I THOUGHT I WAS BEING IGNORED. I FINALLY HEARD FROM ILSE YESTERDAY. SHE HAD BEEN UNABLE TO CONTACT THE LAWYER ALL WEEK HOWEVER SHE FOUND OUT YESTERDAY THAT HE HAD BEEN IN THE HOSPITAL WITH A VERY HIGH BLOOD SUGAR LEVEL. ME BEING A NURSE I KNOW HOW SERIOUS A BLOOD SUGAR OF GREATER THAN 500 COULD BE. I FELT LIKE A DOG. I HAD BEEN SO UPSET WITH HIM AND THEN I FIND OUT THAT HE SO SICK. HE IS DOING BETTER NOW. HE WILL PROBABLY GET OUT OF THE HOSPITAL THIS WEEKEND AND BE BACK TO WORK ON MONDAY. PLEASE PRAY FOR HIM TO HAVE A SPEEDY RECOVERY. I WAS TOLD NOT TO WORRY THAT THE DNA WOULD GET DONE REAL SOON.

ILSE ALSO TOLD ME ABOUT A CHRISTMAS PROGRAM THAT THEY WILL BE HAVING CHRISTMAS EVE AT HER HUSBAND'S ORPHANGE. SHE SAID THAT WE COULD GET PERMISSION FROM MY LAWYER SO THAT ME AND MAYA COULD GO. THAT WOULD BE NEAT TO GET TO SEE SOME CHRISTMAS TRADITIONS GUATEMALAN STYLE.

THAT IS ALL FOR NOW. PLEASE CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR ME, MAYA, AND OUR CASE.

Ginger, everybody is in my prayers. I'm believing your case is going to start flying now.

P.S. Your attorney was my 2nd notario for about 1 week (I'm on my 3rd - I think he must be associated w/my attorney somehow - the Ilse connection is another link)

So glad you got news. i know how frustrating it is when you don't hear anything for a while. Sometimes it's nice to hear something even if they tell there's nothing to report. Don't worry Ilse will take care of ya.

I am a single mother with a daughter from Guatemala. I brought her home on August 21st, 2007. I am loving every second of motherhood. Maya is the love of my life. I can't imagine life without her. I thank God everyday that she is home in my arms.
