MARCH MEDICAL UPDATE!!!!
I GOT MAYA'S 7 MONTH UPDATE YESTERDAY. I AM LITTLE CONCERNED ABOUT HER WEIGHT. SHE IS STILL 13 LBS. NO WEIGHT GAIN IN A MONTH. THIS CHICK CAN EAT. THE FOSTER MOM SAID THAT SHE ATE 8 OZS EVERY 2 HOURS. ON MY LAST VISIT SHE WANTED SOMETHING EVERY 2 HOURS. I STARTED GIVING HER CEREAL AND BABY FOOD. I LEFT A LOT WITH THE FOSTER FAMILY. THEY ASSURED ME THAT THEY WOULD GIVE IT TO HER. ANY SUGGESTIONS ABOUT HOW TO HANDLE THIS?
GO GET HER!!!! HAHA... I know I know... We are waiting for PINK... I wouldn't worry about it right now, Angelena hit a spot and didn't gain, in fact she lost, about 8 oz... Maya could have been at the appointment with a full diaper or tummy, and then this time... all POOPIED OUT... hahahaha.. and then weighed... So, it is ok... AT 11 months, Angel is only 16 lbs...
Luke weighed the same thing forever... He has been almost 6 months, and has pretty much stayed the same. SHe's alot more active now she probaly is burning more calories than before When she gets home (which is soon!) you can better adjust her food Plus I really dont buy anything those medicals say... Addisyn was born at 7lbs? When I got there nothing fit and she just then weighed 7lbs!
She should be fine Ginger! Sonja is 11 months old and only weighs 17 lbs. She was only 14-15lbs. when she was 8 months. Since we have been home, we have been packin' in the table food/baby food and she is doing just great according to our Doctor too!! You will have her very soon and then you can start feeding her cereal in her bottle or with fruit! I wouldn't bring anything up - just wait til' you get her! should be soon - whoooooo hooooooooo!!
Ginger, I have 2 bio sons. One weighed 26 pounds at one year, one weighed 17 at one year. Both are as healthy as they can be. Sometimes babies come to a standstill for a while, and then they start gaining weight. She looks so happy and healthy.......It's ok.
The same here, They told me Madisyn was 15 pds for almost 2 1/2 months well when we got her home the Dr, weighed her in at 17.10 so I think there scales are a little off over there. She will be fine..Madisyn was 8 months old and she acted like she never tasted baby food, SO I would probally guess they aren't giving her the baby food..Just my guess I don't think they believe in feeding it to them all though they told me that Madisyn ate it. So just get that baby home and she will be fine..
I love the little blue dress she is wearing in this pictue, but you know me if its blue I love it. April got on me for talking about her and the clothes and I guess you saw her post. Well the truth is the truth.I don't think you need to worry about Maya's weight, she looks so healthy. Maybe she want take after the Toomey's.
Ginger she's prob fine.. could be teething, or could be a fluctuation in the scale...If for some reason this were to persist, I'd do a culture for parasites once home. I've heard of giardia sometimes being a prob.. BUT again, I doubt this is the issue. Prob just a weird one month report. She'll soon be with you forever and you'll be able to lay some of your worries to rest!!
No worries...Grace hit a stall in weight gain at almost the exact same age. Doc told me it's because they are more physically active and it balances out. It took Grace almost 2 months before she started gaining again. Now she eats like a horse!
I am a single mother with a daughter from Guatemala. I brought her home on August 21st, 2007. I am loving every second of motherhood. Maya is the love of my life. I can't imagine life without her. I thank God everyday that she is home in my arms.
