MAYA'S ADOPTION JOURNEY

WELCOME TO MY JOURNEY TO BRING MY DAUGHTER, MAYA GRACE HOME FROM GUATEMALA. DURING THIS JOURNEY I HAVE STUMBLED OVER MANY MOUNTAINS ONLY TO BUILD MY FAITH. THIS HAS BEEN ONE OF THE HARDEST JOURNEY'S OF MY LIFE AND IT HAS THE GREATEST PRIZE AT THE END. I CAN'T WAIT FOR THEM TO PLACE MY DAUGHTER IN MY ARMS FOREVER. MY DREAMS WILL THEN BE REALITY!!!

WORTH THE WAIT AND FIGHT!!!

I AM STILL IN SHOCK THAT THIS IS IN MY HANDS!!
MORE PLEASE!!!
MY LITTLE NOODLE QUEEN!!!
I AM HEADED TO THE EMBASSY TO GET MY TICKET OUT OF HERE.

WOW!!! HOW DO I BEGIN TO GIVE DETAILS OF THIS DAY. LET ME START WITH YESTERDAY. I GUESS I REALLY PISSED OFF THE LADY BEHIND WINDOW NUMBER 10. I WAS JUST A CONCERNED MOMMY TRYING TO FIND OUT WHY MY EMBASSY WOULDN'T RELEASE MY CHILD. FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT HAVE NEVER BEEN TO THE EMBASSY. WINDOW NUMBER 10 IS BEHIND A DOOR. THE WINDOWS ARE 15 INCHES THICK AND BULLET PROOF. SO.....WHAT DID SHE THINK I WAS GOING TO DO. ALL I DID WAS SLIGHTLY RAISE MY VOICE AND MY HANDS. SHE SHE BEAT ON THE WINDOW POINTING HER UGLY FINGER AT ME WHILE SHE WAS PICKING THE PHONE. DUMB ME THOUGHT THAT SHE WAS CALLING TO FIND OUT WHAT WAS GOING ON. WELL, ABOUT 3 SECONDS AFTER SHE HUNG THE PHONE UP THE DOOR OPENED AND IN CAME AN OFFICER. HE GRABBED MY ARM AND PULLED ME OUT. DRAGGING ME DOWN ABOUT 20 STEPS AND SHOVING ME THROUGH THE METAL WALK AROUND. I WASN'T SURE WHAT THEY WERE GOING TO DO WITH ME. THANK GOD MAYA WAS AT THE HOTEL WITH JENNIFER. YOU WERE MY ANGEL. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR KEEPING MAYA. SO, I WAS TOLD YESTERDAY NOT TO COME BACK TO THE EMBASSY FOR 30 DAYS. SO, I LEFT WITH A BROKEN HEART THINKING THAT MAYA HAD TO GO BACK TO HER FOSTER FAMILY. WELL DEBORAH CAME LAST NIGHT AND THINGS GOT BETTER JUST HAVING HER HERE. THEN TODAY SHE SAID THAT SHE THOUGHT WE SHOULD TAKE MAYA AND GO BACK TO THE EMBASSY. WE GOT THERE AT ABOUT 2:45. MY HEART WAS BEATING SOOOOO FAST. I WAS SCARED TO DEATH TO WALK UP TO THE GUARD AND ASK TO GO IN. I JUST WENT UP AND TOLD HIM THAT I NEEDED TO TALK TO SOMEONE. HE VERY KINDLY OPENED THE DOOR. WHEN INSIDE I WENT TO WINDOW #10 AND THE LADY KNEW MY NAME. THAT IS SCARY. SHE TOLD ME THAT THEY HAD MY DOCUMENTS READY. MY FIRST THOUGHT WAS "HOLY CRAP WHAT HAVE THEY FOUND NOW". SHE TOLD TO WAIT ONE MINUTE AND SHE WOULD TRY TO GET THEM. SHE COME BACK AND SAID THAT I COULD THEM AT WINDOW # 7 AT 3:30. THEN I ASKED HER WHAT THE DOCUMENTS WERE. SHE SAID MY PINK SLIP. I JUMPED AND SCREAMED RIGHT THERE IN THAT LITTLE ROOM . THEN I RAN OUT AND HUGGED DEBORAH AND MY DAUGHTER. THEN WE WAITED FOR THAT MAGICAL TIME. MY APPT. IS AUGUST 20TH BUT I HAVE E-MAILED THEM TO SEE IF I CAN GET IT CHANGED. I ALSO HAVE SOMEONE THAT IS GOING TO HELP ME WITH THIS. I HOPE IT WORKS BUT AT LEAST I HAVE AN APPT. WE HAVE OUR EMBASSY MEDICAL EXAM TOMORROW AFTERNOON. I AM STILL IN SHOCK!!! IS THIS REALLY HAPPENING???? I WANT TO THANK EVERYONE FOR THEIR PRAYERS AND WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT. I WANTED TO QUIT BUT YOU GUYS WOULD NOT LET ME. I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH. THANKS FOR EVERYTHING.

I couldn't be any more thrilled if she was my own child. Seriously. This has been such a blessing for me today. It has reminded me of how God works through people and the amazing human spirit.

Tell Maya to get her cheeks ready because I have a feeling she's going to be getting A LOT of sugar in October!

    Ginger,
You know I am beyond thrilled for you!! I'm so glad Deborah flew in and helped you gave you the strength to go back one more time. WHOOHOOO!!!

Now just a little technical thing (I feel so dumb even saying this). I can't read the whole story. The words blend too much into the heart background. Maybe it's my "old" eyes, but the background just makes it so that I can't read all the text.

    Anyhoo....

    CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!

About freaking time! I would have a serious discussion with your senator about this when you get home - this is the US embassy treating you that way, not Guatemala. But none of that matters right now - WOOHOO!!! She is coming home!
