WELCOME TO MY JOURNEY TO BRING MY DAUGHTER, MAYA GRACE HOME FROM GUATEMALA. DURING THIS JOURNEY I HAVE STUMBLED OVER MANY MOUNTAINS ONLY TO BUILD MY FAITH. THIS HAS BEEN ONE OF THE HARDEST JOURNEY'S OF MY LIFE AND IT HAS THE GREATEST PRIZE AT THE END. I CAN'T WAIT FOR THEM TO PLACE MY DAUGHTER IN MY ARMS FOREVER. MY DREAMS WILL THEN BE REALITY!!!

BEING BLESSED: PART 2
HOW MANY TIMES HAVE YOU PRAYED FOR A PARTICULAR THING WITHOUT REALIZING HOW MUCH IT WOULD ULTIMATELY COST YOU? SUCCESS ALWAYS COMES WITH A PRICE TAG. FOR EXAMPLE, WHEN GOD BLESSES YOU DON'T EXPECT EVERYBODY AROUND YOU TO REJOICE. SOME PEOPLE WILL FIGURE YOUR BLESSING CAME AT THEIR EXPENSE.THAT'S BECAUSE THEY DON'T WANT YOU TO MOVE AHEAD FASTER THAN THEY DO. OR THEY WANT WHAT GOD'S GIVEN YOU, BUT THEY'ER NOT PREPARED TO PAY THE PRICE YOU'VE PAID. JAMES SAYS, "WHERE YOU HAVE ENVY AND SELFISH AMBITION....YOU FIND.....EVERY EVIL PRACTICE" (JAS 3:16). AND IT'S NOT JUST YOUR ENEMIES YOU HAVE TO WATCH OUT FOR; BETRAYAL OFTEN COMES FROM WITHIN YOUR OWN RANKS. HOWEVER, AS PAINFUL AS IT IS TO BE CRITICIZED BY PEOPLE YOU RESPECT AND TRUST, IT'S WORSE TO VEER FROM THE COURSE GOD'S CHARTED FOR YOU IN ORDER TO GAIN YOUR ACCEPTANCE. AS GOOD AS IT FEELS TO BE AFFIRMED AND APPLAUDED, AT SOME POINT YOU NEED TO STOP AND ASK, "HOW MUCH AM I WILLING TO SACRIFICE TO BE BLESSED?" YOUR ANSWER WILL DETERMINE YOU DESTINY!!
I THOUGHT THIS WAS VERY FITTING FOR THE ADOPTION WORLD. WE AS ADOPTIVE PARENTS MUSH SACRIFICE A LOT BEFORE WE EVER BRING OUR BABIES HOME. I AM SO WILLING TO SACRIFICE WHAT EVER IT TAKES TO BRING MY LITTLE MAYA HOME. I MISS HER SO MUCH. MAYA, I LOVE YOU WITH ALL MY HEART AND YOU WILL BE IN MY ARMS AGAIN VERY SOON.
Ginger, I hope that whatever fall-out you had before going private won't delay your getting Maya home soon! If you have cautionary tales for the rest of us bloggers, I'd love to hear. It seems like the Guat adopt blogs have been under attack lately!
Ginger, your post is so true. We all want/need affirmation, support, encouragement etc, but you reminded me that I don't need other people's approval, I know adoption is right and God's approval is all I need. Thank you for a wonderful post!
What a neat post. I think that not only would it go with the adoption feild, but also in the everyday kind of life style. Thanks so much, Ginger! I think of you everyday! Courty
Great post! I am just getting "caught up" with my adoption blogs today and I'm confused about what's going on! Should we all go private? Fill us in on what happened when you get a chance. Hope you're doing OK!!!
Thanks for that post, Ginger. It is hard not to be hurt when people you thought you could count on are not there for you. That post just goes along with what I hear when I'm telling God how hard something is. "Hard? Try hanging on a cross for a few hours."
I know that I already posted a comment, but it was for the POST. I am typing this comment about the PICTURE! She is soo adorable! In every picture that I see she is basically always happy or smiling!!!!
How far along are you in the Guat adoption process?
I am a single mother with a daughter from Guatemala. I brought her home on August 21st, 2007. I am loving every second of motherhood. Maya is the love of my life. I can't imagine life without her. I thank God everyday that she is home in my arms.

Ginger-I'm confused which blog is it that we're supposed to be following. YOu sent me two.
I just want you to know-you have my support no matter what anyone says. Stay true to yourself and God that's all that matters.
