WELCOME TO MY JOURNEY TO BRING MY DAUGHTER, MAYA GRACE HOME FROM GUATEMALA. DURING THIS JOURNEY I HAVE STUMBLED OVER MANY MOUNTAINS ONLY TO BUILD MY FAITH. THIS HAS BEEN ONE OF THE HARDEST JOURNEY'S OF MY LIFE AND IT HAS THE GREATEST PRIZE AT THE END. I CAN'T WAIT FOR THEM TO PLACE MY DAUGHTER IN MY ARMS FOREVER. MY DREAMS WILL THEN BE REALITY!!!

DON'T QUIT!!!
WHEN THINGS GO WRONG AS THEY SOMETIMES WILL,
WHEN THE ROAD YOU'RE TRUDGING SEEMS ALL UPHILL,
WHEN THE FUNDS ARE LOW, AND THE DEBTS ARE HIGH,
AND HYOU WANT TO SMILE, BUT YOU HAVE TO SIGH,
WHEN CARE IS PRESSING YOU DOWN A BIT,
REST IF YOU MUST, BUT DON'T YOU QUIT.
LIFE IS QUEER WITH TWISTS AND TURNS,
AS EVERYONE OF US SOMETIMES LEARNS,
AND MANY A FAILURE TURNS ABOUT,
WHEN HE MIGHT HAVE WON HAD HE STUCK IT OUT.
DON'T GIVE UP THOUGH THE PACE SEEMS SLOW,
YOU MIGHT SUCCEED WITH ANOTHER BLOW.
SUCCESS IS FAILURE TURNED INSIDE OUT,
THE SILVER TINT OF THE CLOUDS OF DOUBT,
AND YOU NEVER CAN TELL HOW CLOSE YOU ARE,
IT MAY BE NEAR WHEN IT SEEMS SO FAR.
SO STICK TO THE FIGHT WHEN YOU'RE HARDEST HIT,
IT'S WHEN THINGS SEEM WORSE, THAT YOU MUST NOT QUIT.
I JUST KEEP READING THIS. IT IS SO TRUE. I KNOW SOMETIMES, I THINK IT WOULD JUST BE EASIER TO QUIT. BUT THEN I SEE MAYA'S BEAUTIFUL FACE AND KNOW THAT I MUST STICK IT OUT TIL THE END. SHE IS SO WORTH ALL OF THE PAIN AND HEARTACHE. WHEN I HAVE HER HOME FOREVER, I WILL PROBABLY FORGET ALL THE WAIT.
As soon as you see her on the pick up trip, all the waiting and pain will go away. Like Alleen said- you WILL get through this! Remember our mantra, "Do not confuse waiting with being defeated!" You are not defeated! Keep staring at that picture and don't give up!
Wow, Ginger!!! What a great post! I needed that... had ONE rotten day yesterday and almost threw in the towel myself! I know how long you've been waiting to be a mom and YOU WILL BE!! It's so unfortunate that this process with this country is so arbitrary and in many ways unfair. BUT you will get her home, and hopefully VERY soon!! While the process is gruelling, I will say that I'm still in touch with a ton of folks I met over 7 years ago waiting for my son to come home. I consider them good friends, despite never having met them and it's been wonderful watching our kids grow up together, thanks to the web. In other words, I'm so glad for all of you going thru this process to have had the opportunity to share your experiences and to help one another thru the tough days. It makes those tough days a little easier to take...
You said it so well, you are so right. You are almost there!!!! It kinda reminds me of childbirth, it can be gruelling and long and yet we do it again because the end result is breath taking!
I am a single mother with a daughter from Guatemala. I brought her home on August 21st, 2007. I am loving every second of motherhood. Maya is the love of my life. I can't imagine life without her. I thank God everyday that she is home in my arms.
