WELCOME TO MY JOURNEY TO BRING MY DAUGHTER, MAYA GRACE HOME FROM GUATEMALA. DURING THIS JOURNEY I HAVE STUMBLED OVER MANY MOUNTAINS ONLY TO BUILD MY FAITH. THIS HAS BEEN ONE OF THE HARDEST JOURNEY'S OF MY LIFE AND IT HAS THE GREATEST PRIZE AT THE END. I CAN'T WAIT FOR THEM TO PLACE MY DAUGHTER IN MY ARMS FOREVER. MY DREAMS WILL THEN BE REALITY!!!

A LITTLE BEAUTY TO START THE WEEKEND!!!

THIS IS WHAT I THINK OF THE US EMBASSY!!!
ARE YOU LOOKING AT MY LITTLE BOOTY??
AUNT DEBORAH IS TEACHING ME BAD HABITS AND I LOVE IT.
YIPPPEEEE!!!! I AM SOOO CLOSE TO THE WATER.
PRETTY IN PINK. WE WENT TO EAT WITH THE NICE MISSIONARIES THAT WE STAYED WITH A MONTH AGO. I ATE A PLATE FULL OF VEGGIES.
MY MOMMY PUT ME IN THE BABY LOUNGE TO GET ME TIRED FOR THE NIGHT. SO, I THOUGHT I WOULD JUST STRIKE A POSE FOR HER FRIENDS.
OOOOHHH!!! THAT HURT!!!
THIS IS MY FRIEND LAYLA. SHE IS GOING HOME ON WEDNESDAY. WHAT WILL I DO WHEN SHE LEAVES.
I AM GOING TO JUMP.
I LOVE THE WATER BUT IT WAS KIND OF COLD TODAY SO MY MOMMY MADE ME GET OUT QUICK. I DON'T THINK SHE COULD HANDLE THE COLD WATER BUT I LOVED IT.
MAYA IS SUCH A SWEET BABY. SHE NEVER CRIES EXCEPT AT THE DOCTOR. WE JUST HAD A RELAXED DAY YESTERDAY. I WALKED TO THE EMBASSY YESTERDAY AFTERNOON AS I WAS TOLD ONLY TO FIND THE DOORS LOCKED. SO, NO LUCK ON GETTING THE APPT. CHANGED FOR MONDAY. I WILL BE THERE MONDAY MORNING TO SEE IF WE CAN GET A TUESDAY APPT. THAT WILL GET US OUT OF HERE ON FRIDAY. I AM SO READY TO COME HOME. I HAVE BEEN HERE 11 DAYS NOW AND IT IS GETTING VERY OLD. I AM JUST THANKFUL THAT I HAVE A VERY GOOD BABY. THIS CHICK WILL EAT ANYTHING. I FOUND OUT A COUPLE OF DAYS AGO THAT SHE LOVES CARROTS. SHE ATE SO MANY SHE IS GOING TO TURN ORANGE.
KAREN AND ABBIE ARE DOING BETTER. ABBIE IS MUCH CALMER SO THAT MAKES MOMMY CALMER. THEY HAD THEIR APPT. YESTERDAY AND EVERYTHING WENT GREAT.
ME, MAYA, AND DEBORAH ARE GOING TO CHURCH WITH MAYA'S FOSTER FAMILY TONIGHT. THEY ARE PICKING US UP AND TAKING US TO THEIR HOME FOR DINNER FIRST. THAT SHOULD BE INTERESTING TO SEE WHERE MAYA SPENT HER FIRST YEAR. WILL POST PICS TONIGHT OF THAT.

    It makes me laugh to see all the expressions Maya is learning! You will never have to guess what she is thinking! :D

    I know that you are ready to come home, but how amazing that you get to visit Maya's FF in their home and their church. I would have given just about anything to have that experience.

    Maya is just too cute, love the bathing suit!

    I have to say, while I know this process has been long and horrific, there is one very bright spot...because you spent so much time actually IN Guatemala, you've come to know the fm more than most adoptive parents and what an experience and wonderful memory for you and Maya to visit the fm home and go to church while in Guatemala. That's a treasure :-)

    I'm so excited that you are coming home with that sweet heart! Hang in there - it's almost over!! Maya is so sweet! What a gift to be able to spend time with her FF and see where Maya lived! What a special thing!! Soak up anything you can get and be sure to take lots of pictures. Maya will really appreciate it some day!!
